From the very beginning of the fourth campaign, fresh DM Brennan Mulligan has kept fans guessing with rich lore, a colorful mix of personalities, and a gripping narrative including angels, evil spirits, and dark forces growing in influence within the city.
Heads-up: Revealing details for the third episode of this adventure lie ahead.
The Warrior Group Revealed
The latest chapter finished on a major cliffhanger and presented the premier party of heroes who will separate from the primary party to embark on their independent quest, separate from the other two tables.
This warrior group includes Teor (brought to life by Travis), the agile character (Laura), Tyranny (Whitney Moore), Wicander (Sam Riegel), and Kattigan Vale (Robbie).
The Reason for Division
Given a large ensemble, it was evident from the outset that maintaining everyone at the same party would be unfeasible.
That’s why, the initial installments of this story serve as an Prelude, connecting the personal journeys before dividing into three separate parties: Soldiers, Planners, and Explorers.
What Defines the Combat Party
According to Brennan Lee Mulligan, the Soldiers table is for participants who are drawn to a typically action-packed combat and conflict-driven story mode where peaceful solutions are rare.
Initially, figures such as the hesitant healer the cleric might appear unsuited, but the actions of the latest installment make it clear why these five characters are best suited for the Soldiers table.
Reasons to Leave
To begin with, the party has a clear idea where to proceed after a violent opening clash with The Crow Keepers.
An old friend of Thjazi Fang—whose death initiated the story’s plot—manipulated the enemy for his selfish purposes, entering the secret base, attacking Thimble, and taking all the enchanted items to dispose of.
Casimir then settled his obligations and ran away to a fortified location in Gormalay, Timmony, above the urban center, with Cyd Pridesire hot on his heels.
Individual Reasons
Moreover, each character has a personal reason to depart Dol-Makjar:
- The agile hero, as the close ally and trusted friend, seeks revenge.
- Kattigan knows the northern area and advises that it is a nasty location.
- Tyranny and The cleric, having resisted his family’s wishes to eliminate the fighter and instead saved him, have no other options.
- But, their reputation as prominent individuals in the powerful family could enable the group access areas they usually can’t.
- Additionally, Teor vowed a eternal obligation to The savior for his salvation and will now follow him anywhere.
Pursued by Authorities
Lastly, all of them are hunted by the powers that govern the setting for a multiple motives, making staying in the city no longer safe:
- The agile adventurer and The character are notorious outlaws.
- The strong figure and Wicander defied the powerful family and the horde of evil beings they are aligned with.
- Teor is wanted dead by the family.
This means them little choice but to journey toward the northern region in quest for the traitor.
